Since ever honey has been considered a good of great value.
Different kind of honey are produced every year from all over the world, in Garfagnana though, thank specific environmental factors and weather conditions, the production lead top quality honey. Different kinds of honey are produced in this area and some of them are considered the best in Europe: “miele di Acacia”, “miele Millefiori” and “miele di Castagno”.
In 2010 two local producers has been rewarded with the prestigious “Due gocce d’oro 2010”.
This great product in our tradition has been used for generations and in different ways:
