The hotel/restaurant “La Lanterna” was born as a restaurant which is still its core business, the flagship we are proud of. The attentions to details in particular to local top quality products made us famous. Our chef Silvia, with her experience and her traditional-original recipes, will delight you with amazing seasonal dishes made with local products in respect of our traditions. On our menu there are some of the typical dishes which is likely to find in any family’s kitchen: Farro (emmer) thick soup , chestnut sweet flour (Neccio flour), potato bread and gorgeous smelly mountain pasture sheep cheese.
From June to July and in particular in September and October is time for the “Porcino” mushroom that in our chef’s hands becomes delicious dish:
- Appetizers: porcino mushroom trifolato (cooked in oil with parsley and garlic) and served on bruschetta or polenta made with “Formenton 8 file”
- A wonderful risotto or maccheroni with grated porcini mushrooms.
- Stewed porcini mushrooms as a side dish for your beef steak.
- Fried porcini mushrooms
You can enjoy your meal in our elegant dining room or in complete intimacy of our private room if you need more privacy. In Summer time you can also enjoy your lunch/dinner on our beautiful terrace and sip your glass of “Chianti classico” or a gorgeous red wine from our hills, in front of the sunset.
